You don't have to get a bigger mass air, but it'd be better. The inlet tract is only as good as the smallest section and a stock 55mm mass air would be it.
A 70mm would work fine, it isn't like a carb where it can be too big and cause problems. The engine can ingest just so much air, regardless of how big the throttle body is.
