the one with the lip is a steel shaft and the one without a lip is alum shaft for the bearing.

Throwout bearing questions
i have a 89 mustang,i brought it to the shop and there putting in another trans for me.
but the question is,is there a difference in the throwout bearings.cause the one that was on the trans that they took out there is like a lip on the end of the shaft and the one i brought in there is no lip and they said they have to order me one cause the shaft is actually longer.
is there any difference in those 2 throwout bearings?
i need to know info as soon as possible please.

i had the car place use the steel throwout bearing retainer they put it all together and when they where finished i started the car and it would stay running to well does anyone know what that could be or from.it wasn't idling straight
