Ticking noise on my 2000 Mustang v6?

i've noticed a slight ticking noise underneath the driver side of the car pretty much everytime i let the clutch out. When i press the clutch the ticking stops. Other than that the car seems to be running perfectly fine. it's not that noticible that other passengers can hear it but it does get annoying to me because i know it is there. Does anyone know what the problem could be??

one of ur header cracked or ur seals r dying away. just ur manifold for cracks by seaforming it. if u see smoke coming out the sides of the engine then. bingo an exhaust leak...
+1 i second the exaust leak
well there doesn't seem to be any smoke coming from underneath the car or anything. At least i haven't noticed any
finally found out what the problem was... it was the clutch
I have the same exact problem, clutch in there is no ticking but when its out with my foot gently on the pedal there is a ticking that will speed up as rpms do. Was there about a month ago but now it is starting to get louder and more noticable and I am wondering how I can resolve.
that was exactly how mine was, at first it was barely noticeable but it got louder and more annoying until i took it to get it checked out.. i was lucky it was just the clutch the mechanic said if i left it much longer the tranny would eventually need replacing.. so get it checked out before it's too late
