I am looking into buying PI heads for my 98 GT. The heads came off a 2001 Bullit. He said one head blew a plug and someone had it fixed. He's selling them for $100. Which is dirt cheap but the spark plug deal scares me. Never had any experience with a plug blow out. Should I trust these heads, or can someone give me some info on how it works to fix a plug that blew out, thanks!

Don't know much about it because I haven't had to do it, but what I've always heard is that the Timesert brand inserts are the best ones out there and that once installed is a permanent fix.

On the other holes that don't have inserts, just be sure not to overtorque the plugs (11 - 14 lb/ft max; I do mine at 8 - 10 just to be safe) and you shouldn't have any problems. The plug blowout is due to Ford only designing the head with about 4 threads deep and people overtightening the plugs. I believe that Ford corrected the issue beginning in 2003 by adding more threads to the holes.
