With the spout connector out, I set my timing to 10* BTDC. When I put the spout mack in the timing jumps to about 20*. Why is this and is it bad? I'm unsure if I am supposed to plug the spout back in with me motor on or off... Help please :)

It shouldnt advance at idle. If it was a carb I would say it sounds like its connected to direct vacuum and not timed vacuum. But if its EFI I would think there is only 1 place to hook the hose, is there a solenoid or something that the hose connects too? I dont know much about EFI cars, Im sure someone will show up and know.
