Tire size and recommendations for Brembo wheels

I'm on the verge of picking up a set of these wheels,I'm really confused as to what size tires would go with these rims.I've looked on different tire sites and there are a half dozen sizes listed to go with 19" wheels. The wheels are 19x9. The cost of tires needed to go with these wheels would be a deal breaker,so I'd like to know what I'm looking at before I pick up these wheels.I would prefer a non staggered setup.

I have a 2012 Brembo GT and I can tell you 19" tires arent cheap compared to 18" & 20" inch wheels. The Brembo cars came from the factory with 255/40/19 Pirelli P-Zero Summer performance tires...not to be confused with the P-Zero Nero's that came on the other cars.
I did not care for those tires one bit, especially if it was cooler than 65 degrees outside..
Anyway I replaced them with Conti Extreme DW tires in 255/40/19 up front and 275/40/19 out back. I believe the cost was around $1100 out the door at Discount tire. Staying with the 255 size all the way around would save you about $20-$30 as I recall.
So far I like these alot, they are almost as sticky as the Pirelli's when hot, behave MUCH better in cold temps, do very well in the rain, and are wearing much better too.
I think Hankook and Nitto also make some good tires in these sizes too, so check out all 3 before you decide.
If your worried about the tires than you probably shouldn't buy the brembos. Probably going to cost almost $200/each for decent ones.

I would also look into what else will be neccesary to get the proper fitment. Those brembo wheels are wider to fit over the larger brakes so they may not fit exactly (not sure). Also will need to get wheel/rack spacers to prevent rubbing.

Have you considered buying some take-offs with the tires still on? They come with the summer tires though which may or may not be a problem for you. I was able to buy GT/CS wheel take-offs for $700 on craigslist with only 1k miles on them.

I hear ya spdracer. The wheels look great, but after the tires wear out you're in trouble. I was thinking about buying some cheap, and then selling them after the tires are worn out.
I'm starting to think that the kind of money it would take to get these wheels is not worth it. If I already had 19" inch wheels and I could use the tires and just swap out the wheels then it might make sense. I sure do like the look of the Brembo wheels on these cars though. I could get the wheels for $640 Cdn but to spend around a grand for tires is a little over budget right now.
You should be able to buy the wheels alone for under $500 (US not sure what the exchange rate currently is) easy. If you are patient they should be even cheaper.

I wouldn't be suprised if the winter is a good time to find some cheap with the summer tires as people realize they aren't drivable all year round and don't want to shell out another $1K for new wheels and tires without easing the pain by selling originals. Or they sell them after the tires are done and they don't want to shell out $1K for new tires.

This **** is just too expensive!

Yes 19 inch tires aren't cheap haha. Usually around $1000+ per set for good tires.

I was thinking of buying some Brembo wheels for my car and this is what I was planning on. this size works fine on 9" wide wheels and my car, less expensive and are rated well by customers.

Continental*ExtremeContact DWS
i had a set of those Contis and they are very good tires. I would definitely recommend them. I only suggested the Federals for best price.

This looks like a great deal on wheels/tire combo

Skip the SS and go to the RSR's! Just don't drive in the rain ;)

Unfortunately my car is a daily driver, rain or shine.

Its still fine in the rain but just don't go too crazy. Dry performance is top notch and will put you in the same league as re-11s, r-s3s, etc

The exchange rate is favourable right now being close to par,I just missed out on a set that went for $550 on Craigslist Detroit. Never thought of looking there,Craigslist is not too popular this side of the border. Since winter is quickly approaching I'll take my time and find the deal that suits my budget, wouldn't install till spring so time is on my side.
Thanks for all the recommendations guys, obviously there are decent tires out there at reasonable prices, just need to find the right deal on the Brembo wheels before I pull the trigger.
