Tires on new Mustangs

Pirelli PZERO NERO 235/55R17 tires came with my V-6 with the Pony Package

On another new Mustang, I saw that it had BFGoodrich tires.

How many different brands are used on the Mustangs and what are the better makes?

I read in the Ford Warranty guide where they have several different brands of tires, but I am not sure if this is showing all the brands of tires used on Mustangs or on all Ford vehicles in general.

I just notice that there isn't any Firestone tires on the list

17's are Pirelli's, 18's are BF Goodwrench-- I believe
I have a GT with 18" wheels and I have BF Goodrich tires.

Tilt
18" = 235/50ZR18

BFGOOD and RICH :eyepoppin
I have goodyears!..........................in the winter. BFg's in the summer.

Theres 2 different brands ford uses for the mustang, and 3 different sizes.

Whih is better? flip a coin.
Ford 17" OEM tires SUK bigtime!

The OEM tires on the 16" V-6 wheels are great. They lose traction gradually and give an ever so cushy ride. The OEM tires on the 17" GT wheels are only good for top speed runs on a smooth highway. They lose tractions suddenly and give a butt kickin' a$$ jarring ride. Zero for the Pirellis!

I am going to upgrade to OEM 17" Porsche Cayenne tires just as soon as I manage to grind off the rubber on the Pirellis with bench press wheelies.

Even the smell of burning rubber won't stink as much as the cruddy job Ford did in selecting that tire.

I have 18" Toyo Proxes on mine. Look great and ride nice too. Around 189 each.
The BFG Traction TA's, standard on the 16" v-6 Mustang are crap. Cheap, borderline dangerous(traction wise) tires. Chick mama Dodge Durango driver tried to kill me in my V-6 stang, my stang got super squirelly in a panic stop, while trying to manuver.:what: The BFG KDWs I have now are fantastic, they helped save me twice now.:winks

Why did Ford go with narrower tires on the 05-06's? Is it propertional or are the 235/50's narrower than the 245/45's that used to come standard? Not a big difference I guess but i'm curious as to why they did that.
