Hello Peeps- Brought the Stang in last week for its 2nd check-up. Its got around 4400 miles on it. Told the mechanic about popping noise in the front end that seems to be getting worse. I had mentioned it the last time I brought it back, but didnt make a big deal out of it because I didnt want to lay it up. Both times now he didnt seem like it was problem. I told him about the TSB's about the problem and they looked at me like I was a dumb fireman that didnt know what was going on. Should I go somewhere else or drag the mechanic into the car with me and drive the car until I hear the poppng noise or what? BTW - 17 additional ponies with the K & N CAI on the dyno:smoke:

Of course you have talked to the service advisor and service department manager right? If they both don't have a clue and/or won't help you, then take the issue up the chain of command to the GM (general manager). TSBs exist for a reason. There is no excuse for them NOT to repair it. :wavey

Yep, A mechanic does what its told... ("put the lotion on the skin") hahaha
You need to tell the Service Advisor/Writer. A mechanic likely knows nothing about anything more than what they are told. It would be chaos if the underlings were getting their noses into stuff like this anyways. Mine was fixed and has stayed fixed as well. Rustang

Hey Haz.
Bring in a copy of the TSB as I did and slip it to them. It took several attempts to get them to look at it though. Kind of like baiting a tuna that has fed already :tongue
I'll fax you a copy of my work order and what was done if that'll help you. So far so good on the repair.

You're at the wrong dealer?

With the TSB in hand, show it to the Service Manager. If they still want to play stupid, then you're at the wrong dealer for service. Besides, why wouldn't this dealer want to take care of this when Ford fully reimburses them for the repair work? The TSB will rectify the popping problem.

Hey guys, sorry to put a damper on your party but just because the dealer fixes the problem doesn't mean it will stay fixed. I had my GT done less than 3k miles ago and it is happening again. All I get is "we'll look it over when you bring it in...no loaner...no "Gee, that shouldn't happen". The fix that Ford has (new bushings) apparantly doesn't fix the problem for long.

I'm taking mine into the dealer tomorrow for other reasons (to have the carpet replaced) and I spoke with the service manager on the phone about the popping noise and the seat cover's coming undone. He seemd to know what I was talking about and said they would fix those items while it was there to get the carpet replaced. I am bringing in the TSB's that I printed up just in case the mechanic I get gives me the, "you have a penis growing out of your forehead" look. :laughlitt The damn dealership is an hour away! God, I hate Kansas. *insert flames below*
