Hey everybody,

I have a 1998 6 cylinder mustang, 70,000 miles on it. It's got about an inch of play in the steering wheel, which is annoying to me. (Might not bug some people). This car used to have really tight, crisp, steering!
Well anyway, I took it to the mechanic and he didn't find anything really wrong with the steering. (He test drove it and put it on the lift.) He told me it might be the worm gear thats beginning to wear. He said that it's a big job to fix that, (meaning expensive) and that might not even fix the problem.

Was hoping for a simple inexpensive way to fix this annoyance.

Anyone one else out there with a similar problem?
