Took my stang on a roadtrip!

So I took my stang on a road trip this weekend! Got in some good highway time and didn't realize how loud she actually is on the highway until I had gone about 20 miles or so, but it was still fun. I was going up to the mountains and there are some empty straight stretches there I got up to 95. :cooldude: I will hopefully have some vids up soon!

I also went up a dirt road and some of the bumps scrapped the bottom. :( Do you think that is really bad for her?

i've had a few bumps along too, recently took my car up into new hampshire on my camping trip, same deal with the dirt roads and i crawled under there and poked around, everything seemed to be in place and healthy. my highway trip yielded 30 mpg! :)

Bottoming out and scraping isn't good for it, but a slight scrape shouldn't do much in the way of damage. You just need to slow it down when you see an uneven surface ahead.
I need to go on a road trip, the furthest i have ever driven my mustang was only 30 miles no lye. I have had it for over 1 year now...
roadtrip??? i guess i go on roadtrips everyday. i have to drive 56 miles round trip every day, to go to work and back
Mountain roads are fun :strut I live near the Blue Ridge Parkway and often cruise up there with the top down
Last Oct 2010 I moved from Idaho to Virginia , Buster ran like a champ all the way for the ( road trip ) 2637 miles @ 32mpg :yup: Believe me when I say its a long drive :gringreen
went on Mustangs across america road trip. Boise to vegas,to Birmingham,to Nashville, and back to Boise via the grand canyon. No problems on lots of "different " roads and weather conditions,Heat snow and torrential rains. Great lil pony. Still running strong to.

I scrape the exhaust occasionally since I dropped the car, I crawl under there and see that nothing has happened except scuffing. Its exactly why I didnt spend money chroming up the exhaust...

In 2009 I was driving 107 miles round trip to work, M-F, and driving another 200 on the weekends prior moving closer to work. I would have loved 56 miles round trip.

To the OP: I also took a small road trip over last weekend, and can agree the Mustang isn't the quietest car, but far better than a car with zero interior. It was ~488 miles round trip. Using A/C and getting 31+ MPG going with traffic (70ish) with good gas. Initially had some watered down gas and gave me around 28 mpg (crappy for my car).
