you might try adjusting the clutch but from the sounds of it, I think the 2/3 syncro is shot and in need of a rebuild. :scratchchin

Remove the clutch fork cover from the side of the bell and take a peek inside. You should have between 1/8" and 1/4" gap between the face of the throw out bearing and the fingers of the pressure plate with the clutch pedal all the way out at the rest position. If it is more than 1/4", then you aren't getting full release of the clutch disc and that will cause grinding.

My buddy has a 91 5 speed and he could not go from 2nd to 3rd w/o letting off the throttle. we went to a junk yard and removed a T5 and installed it ..The trans was only 90$ and we cleaned it up and put some new fluid in her. Everything works well and we was thinking of getting his old T5 rebuilt later on...

You're welcome. :bigthumbsup

It is a T5 and unfortunately it is only rated at about 250ft/lbs (maybe 300, I had a long hard day at work and a few drinks already.... :hihi:)

It might last for a bit providing you go thru it and rebuild it but trying to get it into the 12's on a stock T5 is going to be tough. :scratchchin
Try PM'ing Reggie (rlg34750). He is one of the moderators and a great guy to boot. He too runs a fox body with a T5 and if I'm not mistaken, his car runs in the 12's consistently. He had it built by Pro-Motion Performance down in south Florida and loves it. Walt (the owner of Pro-Motion) and his son Wally are really knowledgeable when it comes to T5's, Mustangs and VERY fast E.T.'s.
I believe Pro-Motions number is 954-771-5575. Ask for Walt and tell him Richard (that's me :D) at Keisler Engineering said to call him and see if he can help you out. :bigthumbsup
