The FRPP crate motors are good engines, if not utra-hiperformance, but I dunno which one you're talking about. I'd personally go for a Keith Craft 347 with AFR165s, a Wieland excellerator, and a custom FlowtechInduction cam, which would give that FRPP 347 a beating 
T56 installation: torch off trans. tunnel about flush. Install T56. Hand-build new tranny tunnel....Wa-la!
I'd go with a Richmond 6spd, as they fit in the factory tunnel and are as strong as the light duty T56s that fit Fords.
3.70 isn't enough gear! Think 4:11s, or 4.30s
6spds allow for LOTS of gear!
