I have an 03 cobra with several bolt ons. I was just recently at the track and was running 12.90's, just got a set of 15" weld pro stars with some slicks for it. I was hoping to be able to get into the high 11's with these. However when i went to put the new rims on they rub the caliper and the shock bolt. I was reading that you can shave these parts down slightly and can get away with the 15" rim, possibly need a spacer as well. Has anyone done this?

Not sure if iv ever seen a cobra run 15's I would just go for a set of 16's with slicks. Not sure if you will be able to shave your times down a second with slicks but those terminators can be pretty crazy good luck :bigthumbsup

some guys will put GT brakes on to fit and to shave a tad weight off. Won't be much weight though. I would have gone with the 16's too. What was your 60' time with the 12.90? What rpm are you going to launch from? What mods do you have? Depending on your 60' time, mods and such, i can see high 11's.

i'll have to go dig out the time slip from my bottomless console in the car. It was basically a "see how she does" night at the track. I'll post my times tomorrow. my mods are: 2.81 pulley, sf3 tuner with bama tune, lt o/r headers, cai, x pipe, 4lb crank pulley, stage 3 clutch, and flowmasters.

There's ways to fit a 15" rim on an 03 but you'll need shorter IRS bolts and a bit of metal shaving!

apperently if you shave the oter tie rod ends alittle on your car you shouild be able to fit them.. you'll need 1" spacers to fit the front 15" rims.. rears shouild be fine with some shaving.
take pics and let us know how it goes.

Going with a set of Bogart Wheels, will end up spending a little more than I want to, but I think it will be worth it. Now I just gotta fix my other issue before we test them out. Car is now making a knocking sounds after the new cam install.... :-(
