A chip you could look under the dash and see something clear as daylights that had brand labeling all over it other than Ford.
As far as a tune goes, thats a little more difficult. Since you don't have a baseline of what the car would feel like, there is very little you can do to tell. If there car has been running fine on regular pump gas and not premium then you don't have to worry. Most tunes crank up the octane necessary for the car to run right. Though it may be tuned to still use pump gas, but that's a minimal amount of people. Other than that the only real way to know is to either use a tuner or go to the dealership and they should be able to tell you (I think)
