Tunnel Heat

1326 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  hireman
I have a 2005 GT convertible with the 5-speed manual transmission. The tunnel (where the transmission sits underneath) gets hot near the driver's feet. There is a bit of bare metal where the carpet does not cover, and the metal is so hot you cannot hold your finger on it without getting burned.

Car seems to run OK. It's going to the dealer this week.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I have an auto and I do get the same experence.

I can feel the heat coming up through the e-brake area.
It seems that some have found that by removing the cats or replacing / relocating them that the heat build up in the tunnel is resolved.
