i've seen a shop working on a car with a saleen S/C and working to fit a Garrett turbo to it. And the idiot was still running a stock block
I saw an article in one of the car magazines a while back where they were blowing a vortech centrifugal into a roots-type supercharger atop the engine. The idea was the roots would give strong power down low and the centrifugal would really add power at the top end. It seemed more like just an attention grabber gimmick to me. You can get enough power from either one alone if you do it right. No need to make things so complicated, where your intercoolers need intercioolers.
why not just go all out an install an Allison??

They have twin turbo kits out for the GT500 for compound boost with the supercharger. I would be happy with the twin turbos alone!
some heavy equipment run supercharger over turbo, great torque down low then the turbo spools and the black smoke starts rolling.... :gringreen its fun to drive a 1500hp machine, sad that it weighs more than your house a couple times over and will do the 1/4 in about 2 mins
Anything is possible, if you got the money :yup:
Sorry, I cannot figure out how two different forms of boost on one engine will not diminish the efficiency of both (in cars, not Caterpillars Scrochy :bigthumbsup)
The gtp guys have been doing this for years. Not in that configuration, but with the turbo pushing the supercharger. The supercharger was on tap for down low then as the rpms rise the supercharger bypass opens and the turbo's high rpm boost takes over and even pushes the supercharger lowering the superchargers parasitic loss. The same would occur in the other configuration also, the turbo would pull the supercharger to lower the parasitic loss.

2. What is the twin charged configuration?
This setup is made for running the blower and the turbo. It uses a different style of exhaust housing on the turbo and works with supercharged or symetrical cams. It requires an intercooler below the supercharger. This setup is recommended for running anything larger than a 67mm turbo. It works well with lower stall converters and can spool up to a 80mm turbo. We ran this setup on our 9 sec street grand prix. It comes with electronics to open the supercharger bypass when the turbo spools.
One of the benefits of this setup is that it allows people with highly modified M90 configurations an easy, affordable upgrade path. By selling your airbox, headers, and 42# injectors, you can make back some of the cost. Additionally, cars running a intercooler can keep most of the existing setup. The twin charged kit works well with supercharged cam profiles. A twin charged setup, given similar mods will always outperform a turbo only solution.

I met a guy at the last big show i went to, he has a Saleen Extreme with the blower doing 11lbs, and he had twin turbos under the car doing a nice 8lbs. Can you imagine this damn thing?!
