I went to buy some oil and I started to talk with a person that works there and he said that he would recomend a higher viscosity of oil for the summer instead of a lighter viscosity rate for the winter. he recomnded a 10w-40for summer instead of lighter 5w-30 for the winter.
how Much if this is true?
Thanks.

What year is your mustang? mine uses 5w20. If the engine has tighter tolerances using a lighter oil should be fine.

Stick with the same viscosity of oil, just use full synthitic. Your car will run better and last longer. The only time I have ever heard of using different wieghtsof oil is when you r in an area were it gets REALLY COLD in the winter. But I don't believe that small of a change in wieghts would make a difference.

i also talked to a mech. and he told me that changing different types of oil with a car can sometimes harm the engine. i recommend stay with what you have been using or upgrade to full syn.
