Upper Control Arm for 1993 Mustang LX 5.0

I have a 93 mustang Lx with Tokico blue gas struts and a set of 255/60/r15 MT street radials that only have about 1/8 inch clearance from my upper control arms. I would like to upgrade them but am sure if after market ones are wider. Any suggestions on a good set of rear upper control arms that would fit?

i have the aluminum steeda upper & lower's on mine and have had no clearance issues. i'm running a 245/45 17" tire. they really made a positive difference in the way mine handles, rides, and hooks off the line. i can HIGHLY recomend the steeda stuff. i also have a set of the steel UPR tubular upper & lowers on my '83 GT. they made a world of difference in that car, too. they helped it hook better and virtually eliminated the wheel-hop i experienced with the stock stuff. the UPR set was significantly less expensive as well. the UPR uppers would probably give you a little more clearance secondary to the tubular design.

I think you are mistaking your quad shocks for your upper control arm. The upper control arms bolt to the axle in the center of the car and are no where near the tires. The quad shocks can be unbolted and flipped around so that the skinny end points towards the rear which will give you a little extra tire clearance.

with a good set of uppers & lowers
you can eliminate the quad shocks all together....
If you're talking about the actual upper control arm, I too would say the Steeda arms. They come with 3 optional bushings, urethane, spherical, and delrin. Stay with the urethane, the other's are for racing only.
I have a set of FRPP "Police" upper arms that are "boxed" for sale. e-mail if interested. They have stiffer bushings than stock and were stock on Police Mustangs.
