Upper intake gasket

Anybody ever tried reusing one?

I know, I know, the right thing to do is just swap it out with a new one and not worry about it, but if the old one looks good...

Again, anybody done it?

BTW, when you pull off the upper there's a little black, steel bar thats held on with the right rear upper intake bolt. Whats that bar for???
