upper/lower intake for less than $650

I have an 89 lx 5.0. I have a BBK cold air intake, accel ignition, plug wires ect. I have a set of shortie headers x pipe off road no cats 40 series flow masters with 2.5 inch pipe. The timing is bumped up. I am putting in a E303 cam .I want to get a upper /lower intake to compliment the cam. I don't have money for heads at the moment . I will add them later. I want a good upper and lowe combo.Would it be better to get a Edelbrock rpm air gap and an upper intake to go on it or would you get a combo kit? Is the SSI series intake from BBK any good . What is my best option but not over 650. Also do I have to go with a 70mm throttle body. If so what do I need to get.

Thanks,

So $650 is the budget? You can get a TFS Street Heat for $400, a Track Heat for $450, and an Edelbrock for $550. These are ballpark numbers of course. The Holley Systemax II is around $600.

Or you can use the Holley Systemax I, it's a direct replacement lower that reuses the upper and is great for the sleeper effect.

I haven't heard any good reviews on the SSI intake so beware. I like my Edelbrock RPM II but it is huge. Trick flow or Edelbrock is what I'd reccomend.
I'd get a GT40 and save the extra cash for a set of heads.:gringreen
the air gap is a carb intake and the BBK is an EFI intake.

Buy a used Explorer intake, save big bucks and get better performance than those others.
