Hi all,

When I wind out each gear in my 5.0, the engine starts a high-frequency vibration that can be felt in the shifter. I'd say the vibes start at 4K and get worse as 6K is approached. Is this normal or should I suspect my balancer? The engine is making great power...it just seems to vibrate too much at high revs.

Thanks

Is this a factory engine and internals? It's common because Ford didn't balance the crank and rods from the factory.

If it was the balancer, there'd be no mistake, it'd vibrate almost all the time.

if its releted to rpm then its not a wheel alignment. mine did EXACTLY the same thing and it was that the rear motor mounts were bad so the engine was sitting low enough to where the drive shaft angle in relation to the tranny and the rear end caused vibration at high rpm. the balancer thoery could be right too but check the mounts
