I had the same problem putting lowering springs in my 88. I ended up having to put coil-overs on it because after a week of trying everything that I could think of I still couldn't get them in. I think I have a spring compressor that will work now, I haven't had time to try it, but it is similar to the one that you show except it has hooks on both ends that will compress the spring at an angle.

They shouldn't be giving you that much trouble going back in, was the ball joint the only thing done?

agreed, I have never even used a spring compressor on any of the spring changes I have done.

i just compressed mine off of the car, wraped 1/8th inch cable around all but the end coils and cripmed the ends of the cables togehter. then i set the spring back in the car, jacked up the control arm to compress the spring and cut the cables. super easy.

HA i wish it was going easy.
idk what it is but its so hard to get them in.

my dad is a mechanic so i know were not just being idiots, idk what it is.
ive read around ALOT and ive found out that Ford makes a specific compressor for my car and its 280 $ so thats a negative.

the only thing i can think of is to use two jacks and have the control arm off and just jack the control arm up with the spring in it and just get it up high enough get the bolts in and attatch the sway bar.
its all i can think of because they will NOT fit any ways ive tried.

so we will see how that goes i guess.
any insite or ideas would be great tho.
