V-Sixer Monte Carlo bar

Googled this up last weekend, got a hit for a guy on Ebay, made the bid (50 bones!) and got the part yesterday. Will post pix later today. Fit right over the inside bolts of the strut towers, about perfectly. One curious (hopefully not problematic) issue: The hood didn't want to shut for about the first ten times I tried, after the install. Near as could tell, the hood insulation was not "giving" with the new bar in place. I let the hood rest against it for about ten minutes while pondering, and then it closed on the next try. The fit appears very snug in there, but am gonna give it a road test this morning and make sure there's nothing to worry about.

Looks like the guy is selling more of 'em too...link here:

Good find! :worship

Make sure it doesn't rub the hood and we need pics! :laughlitt
Here ya be...I snapped one of the hood insulation whatever because on one side (the right, as you're standing in front of the car looking back at the passenger compartment) there is a little "gulley" where the bar appears to have nestled into...but it's not on the other side (?). At any rate, no bad noises/vibrations/etc. encountered this morning...had to go into work, drag...but took a few pretty sharp turns at about 50 and my baby is like GLUED to the asphalt.

I'm tellin' ya -- this car is SO MUCH FUN!! :clap :clap :clap

That's not too bad. Is it putting any pressure on the hood or did it just compress the insulation?
Good question...the latter. After opening the hood to take the pics yesterday, it closed with no prob. I did several "visuals" also, comparing the hood and surrounding body frame, and the hood is flush/plumb along the left and right front sides of the car. It was so easy to put it...I was (and am still) ready to take it out again if it deforms the hood in any way...
