The car breaths a little easier, not much of a difference as far as I can tell. I'm willing to bet it's one of the upgrades that you notice when its gone. Either way, if you're going F/I, don't get it lol. Most kits have a different inlet anyway. It all depends on your budget. I'm saving up for a s/c and have a lot of little bolt ons. You can see em in my signature. Eventually I'm doing a lot of cosmetics because its nearly pointless to supe up a V6. Unless you're willing to spend big bucks to make it a beast. But at the same time, a V8 can spend half the cost and have a car either equal or better.
Makes sense I just ordered the sct jlt combo it got shipped today :bounce2:
And now I'm working and body and rims for it I get what you mean by that

f/i?

Ok, first off I am an ASE certified parts specialist with 18 years experience managing automotive parts stores. But I am not catching all the abbreviations here. People have been talking about adding f/i to their car to increase performance. I am pretty sure that every car built since the end of the 1980's already has Fuel Injection so clearly you are not talking Fuel Injection. I also know it is not adding Nitrous Oxide as most people would say they are adding NOS, (which btw drives me crazy, it is NITROUS not "nos" (too much dang Fast and Furious crap))
Maybe Flash Information? meaning you are going to reflash the computer??
wtf?
Sorry, my gray hair is showing.
Maybe a Ford Intake?
I give up........

Forced Induction

that video of the blue civic racing a 4.0 mustang is a terrible example. That civic is a 02-05 civic si. those civics make 160 horsepower. the video of the black civic racing a 3.8 is a 06-11 civic si. those make 197 and are dialed in way better than the 02-05's. you need to learn hondas before you start posting random videos. this thread was based of a race between a new civic si (ie 06-11) and a v6 mustang, not the 02-05's. not all hondas are the same. theres a bunch of different motors made, all making different numbers, and having different vtec points. if this thread is really about a v6 vs a newer CIVIC SI you cant post early 2000's accords and civics. that would be like me posting a ford Taurus just because its made by ford against a civic si. its completely unfair.

blowers and turbos and nitrous oh my!

Thanks Ducatti20, Forced Induction, seems so formal, I am used to "blower" or "turbo/hairdryer" In the research that I have done, it seems that the 4.0 is known for blowing head gaskets and installing a power adder may jack the chamber's pressure so much as to make blown head gaskets pretty common. I remember selling a friend of mine a ZEX kit for his Acura, it was an easy install so maybe I will put one on my mustang v6. I have a few 100 lb tanks in my garage from the old All-Car chain that closed years ago, looking at getting a cryogenic refill station as I have a plate system on my old Buick and then I could refill my own bottles. I know that a turbo will improve gas mileage whereas a belt driven supercharger can hurt mileage, (generally speaking) but the ZEX kit is 1/3 the cost or less, of a f/i system and I am soooooo cheap.

That's a 3.8. Here's a 4.0.

Spanking.
Si drivers are funny. They want so badly to think they're the next extras in the Fast and the Furious. Had one pull out in front of me on the highway the other day and then guns it to show how bad-@zz his little VTEC was. I catch up to him a little ways down the road where he's stuck behind a truck going 45. Eventually the truck slows down to turn and I know the guy is going to gun it again, so I get ready to follow him to see just how quick his little rice burner is. Sure enough as soon as the truck is out of the way I hear the guy rev up and go. I kept it in 3rd from a roll at about 30mph until about 50-55 then dropped down to 4th...and never once was more than 6ft off the back of his bumper :gringreen Unfortunately it was only a two lane highway so I didn't have a chance to pull up next to him to show what it looks like for a real car to accelerate.

Stock for stock, a new Civic Si will beat a 4.0 Mustang. I know from personal experience. An exhaust, intake, and tune will put you ahead of them, if they are still stock, that is.
