V6 to V8 motor and tranny swap

I just swapped the motor and tranny out of a 95 Mustang that had a V6 and put in a carberated V8. I also swapped out the AOD tranny with a C4 and have found that the tranny cross member does not line up with the mounting bolts. The C4 seems to be shorter or something. Is this normal or had I done something wrong?

That's normal, the C4 is shorter than the AODE you had. Most converting to the C4 had to modify the mount to get it to fit. I'd also make sure of the driveshaft length to be safe.

Thanks, one other thing do you think that plate between the motor and the tranny is important (backing plate I think)? I just noticed we forgot to put it on?
