Valvetrain noise?

Anyone know how to deaden valvetrain noise with longtubes? Wraps or anything? I know the thinner material allows for more noise to come through but its pretty loud. Just looking for a way to shut this noise up or at least make it better.

Are you hearing this mostly at WOT? My Kooks LTs do seem to rattle more at WOT
Its when the engine is cold for the first 15 seconds and the when the car is put under a load. not really a rattle but more like a ticking sound. it kinda bounces off everything around me with the windows down and with them up it sounds kinda like a sewing machine.
my stupid cats make a ticking noise on cold start and goes away after it warms up. its just embarassing sometimes haha. i cant wait to get them out when i switch over to LT
sounds to me like a possablie exhaust leak somewhere. I had at simular tick which you are talking about and I had a leak at the end of my headers so i just tightened it up and it was ok after that.
I had it smoke tested and it didn't show any leak at all. I know it really does sound like a leak though.

Hello rgoddard57,

I recommend you bring your vehicle in to your Ford dealer and have them look into this for you. If you need further assistance, don’t hesitate to PM me.

Was the smoke test DIY or did a shop do that for you? id like to find a way to test mine
I know exactly what you mean. It's not so much valve-train noise as it is normal exhaust sound, but with the walls of the LT's being so much thinner than the stock cast iron manifolds, the sound is much more audible.

I had to put my stock manifolds back on earlier this year for a state inspection and I actually liked not having the engine noise overwhelming the sound of the supercharger when at a decent load. I installed my LT's for performance reasons, not so much sound reasons. I thought about putting header wrap on them to see if it would quiet them down but I ended up in a hurry to put them back on before the wrap arrived so I canceled the order. I am not in that much of a hurry to take them off just to wrap them and put them back on cause it's such a PITA, but if I end up having to do the swap again next year for inspections I will do it.

I am going to keep looking into this. Also the test was done in the shop by my tuner and we had a lot of smoke rolling through those pipes and nothing came out anywhere. Anyone know what header wrap might have some sound deadening properties?
LoL you should totally take it to the dealer like FordCustSrvc said and watch them look at you like your on crack. Then tell them a customer service rep said the dealership would fix it for you :gringreen
