I was just curious what the weight of a 4cyl LX or SVO was versus a 5.0?? I would think it is a bit lighter, but curious...

Typical 5.0L Fox Body Weights (in pounds)

Model ~ Trans ~ Total ~ Front ~ Rear
LX Sedan ~ Man ~ 3037 ~ 1798 ~ 1239
LX Hatch ~ Man ~ 3102 ~ 1796 ~ 1306
LX 'vert ~ Man ~ 3238 ~ 1870 ~ 1368
LX Sedan ~ Auto ~ 3097 ~ 1837 ~ 1260
LX Hatch ~ Auto ~ 3162 ~ 1835 ~ 1327
LX 'vert ~ Auto ~ 3298 ~ 1909 ~ 1389
GT Hatch ~ Man ~ 3191 ~ 1849 ~ 1342
GT 'vert ~ Man ~ 3327 ~ 1923 ~ 1404
GT Hatch ~ Auto ~ 3251 ~ 1888 ~ 1363
GT 'vert ~ Auto ~ 3442 ~ 1960 ~ 1482
'93 Cobra ~ Man ~ 3255 ~ 1874 ~ 1381
'93 Cobra R ~ Man ~ 3143 ~ 1823 ~ 1320

Sorry, no #'s for the 4cyls. I know a bare 2.3L block weighs about 130#. I can lift and walk with a 2.3 block, a 5.0 block (~200#?) I might be able to get off the ground but I won't be going anywhere. Add to that a second head (~35#?), exhaust manifold (~12#?), bigger intake system (maybe 3x the weight of the 4cyl), more cooling system capacity, bigger swaybars, brakes, rims/tires... 200# seems easy to hit

Yeah 5.0L steel heads are like #50lbs each I think?? I know alum heads save 50# total as a pair...and I KNOW the intakes are HEAVY!!! a good 25# per piece, so 50# for a pair of 5.0 intakes (upper & lower) I have a bunch of this stuff here.. I will try to weigh the pieces before I put everything together. the blocks as going to be the part I cannot weigh out though.
