Vibration Problem

956 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Sliepnir16
My 91 with 3.73 gears seems to vibrate very bad when going over 60mph. It feels normal until you go over 60. I think the front wheels need aligned, but that could not be all right? I would think you could tell it was the alignment while driving through all speeds and not just specifically over 60mph. Anyone ever have this problem?

Is there anymore information you could give? Don't have much to go off here.

Where does it come from? Is it in a specific gear(for 5 speed)?

Every had any work done to the front end? Rear end(besides the 3.73s)?
forget the alignment dude;the wheels may need balancing or the driveshaft may need weights(balancing) or the u-joints might need replacement or the rims may be bent.pick one,but you need to check all these things or you can be more specific and elaborate on the vibration.do you feel it in the wheel? or the floor?etc
It is a 5 speed tremec. I think it could be the U joint as it does tend to shift hard sometimes. Its always in 5th gear when it vibrates. You can feel it on the floor and the wheel so pretty much everything id guess.
I have the same problem. It just did not show up till the gears upgrade. Its the dang Driveshaft out of balance and old u joints. We both need either alum.shaft or just balance the old one and new u joints. Mine is just when I go from 4th to 5th. and in 5th it vibrates the whole time duing acc. If I cruze in 5th it kinda goes away.

Same problm with mine after 3.73 upgrade. Over 60mph and always 4th or 5th gears. I changed U-Joints, had shaft balanced and bamm!!! Fixed
Get the drive shaft balanced and it will go away - cost $50 for me when I did my 3:73 and got the same thing.
Thanks guys. I never even knew driveshafts could be imbalanced.
