Hello everyone, new guy here. Loved the site so I joined it. Guess what? Just picked up a 66 fastback K code with no data plate. The VIN is 6F09K271483. Any info about approximate build date or anything else would be appreciated. Its a project! Thanks, Rob.

Mine is a 65 so I am no help. Veronica and some others have a pretty good data base on build dates so they should be able to come close. Enjoy the K!

Your car was likely built on or near Febuary 26th or 27th 1966, date code of 26B or 27B.

I have cars 6F09A271317 with a date code of 26B and then 6F07T271553 with a 27B date code in my book.

Hello. :) Odd. The 26th and 27th were a saturday and a sunday. :headscratch:
I would have guessed the 28th. :)

Did the factories actually produce cars on the weekends back then? I guess it would make sense that they would I imagine that it would be tough to shut down production every weekend???

Hello. :) Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. Things have been a little weird around here. :D The scheduled production date of your car would have been about 24B, which is february 24th of 66. Hope that helps. :)

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were building them around the clock 7 days a week back then. It was the hottest selling car at the time. Would be nice trivia to know for sure.
