Just ordered a Vortech supercharger kit from AM and the installation guide recommends to "replace all spark plugs that are older than 1 year or 15,000 miles with original heat range plugs as specified by the manufacturer and reset timing to factory specifications" and "Do not use platinum spark plugs unless they are original equipment."

Since my plugs are over a year old and need to be replaced, I wanted to find out what spark plugs Vortech owners are using. Stock, NGK, Brisk, Ford Racing?

Also, what's the best spark plug gap? Smaller, larger, stock? What it the stock gap?

I know, lots of questions... THANKS IN ADVANCE!

You'll be fine with the stockers just gap them to .032. A lot of people have gone with the NGK 1 step colder plugs with great results though. I think I will eventually.

I did read that some Procharger owners have had better results with the NGK 1 step colder plugs anywhere from .028-.034, couldn't find much info on how well they work with the canned Vortech tune. I did read a thread where Brenspeed recommended Brisk 1 step colder plugs, but they sell the NGK's with their Vortech upgrade packages... confusing. I plan on using a Brenspeed tune, maybe a rep can chime in as well. Any Vortech owner experiences?

We use NGK on the 11's, here is a link.
2011 Mustang GT NGK 6510 Iridium IX- 1 Heat Range Lower Spark Plug (ONE PLUG)

If you plan on running our calibration you need several items to go with it. Here is a video if you have not seen it of that package. Wish you would have went with the package from us if you are going to run our calibration... see the video below it explains a lot. I drove that car in the video for about 6 months. The Vortech kit has somes ups and downs to it in my opion.

My car is a daily driver, so I am looking for more of a custom, tame, smooth idling 91 octane tune. Adjustments would be for manual, Steeda CAI, 20" wheels/tires, 3.73 gears and 3.33 pulley. I live in CO so the 3.33 pulley is to help compensate for boost loss/altitude and I want my speedo to be accurate. If you are not able to do the tune, I can always have my local shop hook me up.

At this point I'm getting everything I need for the install (i.e. spark plugs, tune, advice) to circumvent and possible issues... So what are the ups and downs? Oh, nice video, the Wookie looking in on the dyno was funny.

if you in colorado you should have Rob down at RWR Tune it. They are off Highway 85 just south of 470.

They work closely with AED (Shaun and Rob seem to know each other pretty well)

When I go F/I I will be taking my car there.. I got a base tune from them and getting a E85 Dyno tune done here shortly :bigthumbsup

the difference between the Bama and RWR tune was only a couple HP up top... but throught the curve its 10ish higher... I can tell a difference just driving it around... not to mention I ran about .3 faster in the 1/4 (but also had better air 12.97 @ 7200DA vs 13.35 @ 8200DA)

Have heard good things about RWR, but will probably go with RMCR here in the Springs. They are a Vortech Top Tier installer and have already done a couple of 2011+ Mustang Vortech installs. Does RWR use SCT or Diablo tuners? RMCR Performance & Dyno | Products

They have the ability to use either. Rob prefers the SCT's. Here is RWR's Website

I know that RWR has done Paxton's, Vortech's, whipple, etc on the new Mustangs.

Stock, NGK, Brisk, or Ford Racing - Any of these plugs will work just fine so use whats convenient and comfortable on the wallet. I use the FRPP 1 heat range colder plugs.

Those are the ones. I dont think you will read anything substantially bad about any of these plugs. I used the stockers for over a year and can not say I noticed a difference once I switched them out. You really could can save the $90 now or put it toward something else and change these out later.
