Hi Everyone:

Scott here. I'm thinking about purchasing a 1990-93 Mustang convertible. I really don't need gobs of power as I'm planning on using this car for strictly summer cruising. I did see one on CL for $2,200. They didn't list the year, but it's got the 14" wheels, automatic, and in really good/clean condition. Here are my specific questions:

-My daily driver is a standard. I'm thinking about buying an automatic Mustang. I'm aware of the transmission issues on older Fords (had a Crown Vic and a Taurus before). However, driving in-town in "D" instead of "OD" along with regular fluid changes kept the transmissions very much alive. Does the same apply here?

-What known issues should I be on the lookout for?

-Aside from buying a 5.0, if you were me, what would you do?

I'm not too familiar with the fox body Mustangs as a whole, but always loved that body style. Any feedback you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Scott

1990 5.0 LX Hatchback

Scott,
I will be putting a 1990 5.0 LX Hatchback on the for sale section sometime today. It is an automatic in great condition. I am in New Orleans, La.

You can check out all the particulars once I get it up.
