Warranty on Polished Wheels for 2010 Mustang?

724 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  factoryreject
Wife’s 2010 Pony with 18” polished rims is developing corrosion on the wheel around the center cap. Looks like it is under the clear coat. Is this covered under warrantee?

All the center caps on polished wheels I ever had would rust a little from the salt in the winter... I would just use some white lithium grease on the center cap for the winter time and that would help it not to rust. In the spring I would clean the grease off and power ball the wheels out along with the center caps and they would look like new again.

I don't think the company will cover it. Seeing that you are in Ohio I would imagine that you drive in the salt and snow.

The corrosion is on the wheel, not the center cap. Looks like milky white spider vains. Aluminum oxidation growing under the clear coat. I'm going to take it in for her since she doesn't "have time" to do it. Just wondered if anyone knows what is covered?
Ugh, I had that happen w/ a set of Jeep wheels I bought from the dealer. Awful thing seeing how expensive the wheels were. I didn't get any help from them.
My '04 and '05 both have bubbles of corrosion in the doors, trunk, and hood. F-the salt trucks and their budget. Hacks
if it came with, it should be covered under 5yr/unlimited warranty. what does it say in ur warranty manual.
if you are getting the spider vein effect, you may have the beginning or have micro cracks, and may be dangerous to drive. definitely take it to the service dept. at the dealership.
