We need a "2005+ V"6 Talk" area

Relax dude(or dudette). I suggested breaking it up in to two separate sections, one of V6 and one for GT, to make it easier for forum members.

i was joking around, its suppose to be about the s197 talk. the cars are close to the same. you still got your tech, which as many gt guys hit the v6 tech and vice versa. its all good. why does your avatar say v6 under it? its ok, just curious :shiny:

I was added as a V6 member because my wife drives a V6 Mustang. I've got nothing against V6 Mustangs, they're great cars. It would just be easier for people to seach amoung there own model. I mean the GT500 has i't's own area.:bigthumbsup

Sorry but it seems silly to me to come into a forum that's meant for all s197's and say that there is too much content about a certain trim of that vehicle.

Would it make any sense for me to come into this section and say "I think there is too much GT content here. We need to split you into another forum."?

Or perhaps we need to have separate forums for every trim of the s197 Mustang; v6, v8, GT500, GT/CS, Roush, Steeda, Saleen, Bullitt, etc. :scratchchin

Splitting the section into two parts makes perfect sense.
I made a useful recommendation and you respond by making a defensive, (for no reason) idiotic remark. Grow up.:so

So as far as I can tell... there allready is a seperation between GT and V6 for matters that have to do specificaly with both of those cars. The talk section is for s197 cars (all of them) so what more exactly is it that you want? Have you had difficulty finding a tech thread specific to your gt? Or have you had difficulty finding a tech thread for your wifes 6? Because if it doesn't have anything to do with the drivetrain or gt specific body mods, and you want to talk about it (i.e. body mods, interiror, shows, etc, etc, etc....) You are asking for what we allready have.

As far as manners here go, somebody made a funny if not sarcastic remark, and your responce was much more defensive (and juvenile)than any other post I have seen. It is hard for us to take you seriously if you stoop lower than the people you are trying to persuade. Think about it. We are all here for the same reason, so do try to not post knee-jerk responces (even if your feelings are hurt)

i dont think we should split it either. while Cdivision does have a point and some things do get kind of confusing... we're all mustang enthusiasts. if u have something GT related, go to the GT section. If youre V6 related...hit up the v6 section. its all one click away. 2005+ talk is meant for all s197s because GT or V6...they have a lot in common. The only thing that separates them is a motor and a sway bar along with some cosmetic changes. I help out GT guys all the time....GT guys help me out. im sure its the same for everyone else. Why fix something thats not broke? Its a mustang community, learn to get along.

I agree that the forums are split enough already. I personally like talking to all S197 members about certain things (body mods, shows, fun stories, ect) and these things all S197 owners can answer. I agree that some things that belong in the tech areas are sometime thrown into the talk area and sometimes that gets confusing. The mods do a real fine job about moving those forums however, so I'm happy. Its good to hear recommendations, and that is why there is a forum dedicated on this site strictly for recs, I just don't think this one is necessary.:bigthumbsup

I like the talk section the way it is.

Never really paid much attention to whether a car was a V6 or GT.

I think if AFM was to split the two then we would weaken the over all pool of knowledge that is here. I've gleaned some pretty good insight in this section and I never really was concerned about who provided it.

true...iv learned everything i know about s197s on here. im not the top dog and i dont have the fastest car on here but i know my way around this neck of the woods.
