Yup guys, it's true. I'm trading in the 07 v6 either tomorrow or next week for a new edge gt 2 valve 5 speed. The real reason I wanna trade is cuz I really wanted a manual. So I figured I might as well get a gt. Plus I want to lower my monthly payment. I won't forget about you 4 liter guys and I'll still stop by every once in awhile, but it's time to graduate to a v8!

but the new edge stangs are ugly...that's why i got my s197 sixer instead. That, and the GT I wanted was an auto, and the vista blue was cooler than the burgandy, and the v6 had less miles....etc.:winks

I'm a little confused as to what you are planning to trade for. I am thinking the Ford Edge is a small SUV with a V6. What do you mean by an Edge GT Mustang? Is this a new model?

yup, the new edge mustangs are 99-04 model years.

i went to test drive it today. black on black leather, loaded, cobra r rims, 5 speed, body is immaculate. i got approved for the loan, i just have to go get it on tuesday or wednesday

hey silver bullet i Google 2001 rims on a 06 and a post you made came up so instead of bringing up the past can you answer if i put rims that were on a 2001 fit on a 2006?
did it effect anything? any rub?

haha, yeah mike, ill still be around, especially for nitrous related v6 questions. but you know me, i just couldnt find the exhaust tone i wanted with the v6, so i figured a 2 valve should correct that! plus ive been itchin for a 5 speed for a long while.

btw, im resisting temptation to put the nitrous on the gt, so im selling it, anyone interested (MIKE!!!!) pm me, ill let it go for a big loss.

oh, and to the guy with the rim question. yes, any 99-04 rims will fit, and look amazing on an 05-09 (10-11 too???)

Gonna Miss Ya:bigthumbsup Since you and I have similar Stangs, what kind of Trade Cash you gonna get for yours? Im really Cunfused, I want a V8 but hate the Newer Body Style, I wish I could go back and get a 07-09 GT.....If I could only find one well taken care of with super Low Miles I just might sell My V6....but that's gonna be tough to do.

I don't think there is any Mustang that is ugly but I have to agree that the s197's returned to the styling that got fans of the originals excited. I had a 67 and a 71 as a teen and bought my '06 for just that reason. Anyone who wasn't around at that time may have different taste.

yeah i agree. all mustangs look great. i have really grown attached to the look of the new edge GT's, especially lowered and black....like the one im getting. i actually prefer them to the S197 styling at this moment.

I wondered if I'd get this question. I did not like the Mustang II. I think that was a big mistake for Ford (thank you, Lee Iacocca) . That's not to say that I thought they were ugly. They just weren't what the line was meant to be.
