I've been working on getting my '66 GT coupe road worthy for the past few months and the only thing needed now is a transmission. This car started as a 289 and is now bored out to a 302. It has performence headers, exaust, endelbrook 4 barrel carb. and manifold. I have no idea how much power or torque it has, but i won't be racing so I think a stock transmission will be ok?
Any way what one should I get and where should I get it? Im on budget of $600 shipped to :happyhapp .

Automatic or manual???

The C4 was the usual automatic behind the 289.
The Borg Warner T10 was most often the 4 speed manual, although some used the Ford T&C Top Loader 4 speed.

Thank you, I think I am going to go with the T10 but just in case I decide to go for the T5 i was curious as to what the spline count is the same. From what i can tell all i need is a new crossmember and bell housing?
