I ran the three-spoke metric wheels from the 83-84 mustangs on my '76 ghia. The tire size was 220-55-R390. The front of my car sagged from the weight of the 302 and the tires did not rub even at full turn lock.

I've also seen guys run the finned Mustang GT wheels from the mid-80's cars too with minimal interference.

Hope this information helps!
I have 15x8 Superlites on the rear with 265/50/r15's. The wheels have a lot of backspacing and barely clear on the inside. Can't answer for the front as I have skinnies up there.
I have a set of 295/50/15's (15x10) on the rear but the 15X7's on the front. I plan on going 305/40/17's on rear.
