besides stroke, pistons, the roller, can my 1980's heads, water pump,timing cover,Etc fit? I know the oil pump would have to be for the year,but I don't want to get an engine that I have to by all new/used parts and externals for, any help would be great, thanks by the way my

The 1982 heads aren't desired for performance engines because they have such large chambers. They were increased quite a bit in 1979 and lowered compression and didn't promote swirl much. The 1990 heads are much better to use. Internally, you can reuse a lot of the 1982 engine although better parts would be advised to use.

Right on I'm on a budget, maybe I'll get some junk yard heads and have them machined, for more power and econ, I just didn't want to throw
away all my stuff especially my new water pump, I love that thing it saved my butt after the engine was toast, it kept the engine running cool,thanks guys now I know I'm not wasting my money on a NOS early
