Hot wax is a ripoff and a waste of money. Period. Nothing like waxing the car yourself. I do not use car washes unless absolutely necessary. My Gt convertibles, including the new one have never and will never see a car wash. Again, nothing like doing it yourself.:bigthumbsup
I agree with nothing beating a hand wash. I was out of town at a car show/ cruise and staying at a hotel. I had to use the local car wash to get the bugs and road grime off.
Warning on Hot Wax.... it leaves a layer of gunk that has to be stripped before you instant detail the car, or else you'll have a hell of a time wiping it off. I have to use the car wash in the winter - reluctantly.... if you can wash at home, do it... if not, maybe a friends house. Every time a car of mine comes out of an automatic car wash, I worry - my bronco came out with a huge scratch....
if you must use a car wash - do it yourself or look for a complete hand wash only.... JMO... I would love to own one so people can see how it's really done. :smilie
