What at the car wash is any good?

Really interested in whether the "hot wax" is worth using. Also the multi colored foam and the spotless rinse. Are these gimmicks or valid products?

Well the spotless rinse is not. It is deionized water. No minerals in it just pure water so not spotting. As far as that hot wax I think it is junk.
Hot wax is a ripoff and a waste of money. Period. Nothing like waxing the car yourself. I do not use car washes unless absolutely necessary. My Gt convertibles, including the new one have never and will never see a car wash. Again, nothing like doing it yourself.:bigthumbsup
I agree with nothing beating a hand wash. I was out of town at a car show/ cruise and staying at a hotel. I had to use the local car wash to get the bugs and road grime off.

Warning on Hot Wax.... it leaves a layer of gunk that has to be stripped before you instant detail the car, or else you'll have a hell of a time wiping it off. I have to use the car wash in the winter - reluctantly.... if you can wash at home, do it... if not, maybe a friends house. Every time a car of mine comes out of an automatic car wash, I worry - my bronco came out with a huge scratch....

if you must use a car wash - do it yourself or look for a complete hand wash only.... JMO... I would love to own one so people can see how it's really done. :smilie
