Iron GT-40 heads already have 1.84" (int.) and 1.54" (exh.) valves. Is six-hundreths of an inch going to make a difference?
Do not take anybody's word on whether piston-to-valve clearance in YOUR engine might be acceptable. YOUR engine is not the same as anybody else's engine, even if the parts are/will be exactly the same. Either measure clearances yourself or have someone do it for you.
Same goes for checking/measuring proper pushrod length.
