What does it take to install an aftermarket stereo in my Mustang?

I bought my 91 stang conv with an aftermarket stereo included in the deal. The problem is the stereo was not installed properly. I can hook up the wire harness most likely but I don't have a dash mounting kit. I have searched crutchfield and several other websites and can't seem to find one to fit. Only thing i can find is for the stock stereo. Anybody know where I can buy a kit to make it look clean and hold up. Any help would be great. Thanks

I had the same issue, I found a few of the front plates on ebay, but they wanted way to much for my taste (with shipping 75.00) so I made my own out of aluminum...a good stereo shop can hook you up for less
My 92 vert had one in it when I bought it. It has the hole for the stereo on top with a storage cubby under it. It looks factory. I know Ive seen them for sale somewhere when I was searching for the correct wiring diagram for my car. I cant remember where though.

Edit: This looks like the one in my car.

Your aftermarket cd player fits in there pretty well then? I have a kit similar to that one, which is for the stock stereo, and the whole for the cd player is just a little bit too large. I am going to attempt to make one out of some thick plexi glass and put lights inside.. maybe even engrave a logo into it.. If that doesn't work for me I'll be back on the search. Thanks for the reply though!

Yes, my jvc deck fits the hole perfect. You first have to install the sleeve (supplied with the deck), then you can just slide the deck in until it clicks in place. Mine looks totally factory. The one in the auction you would have to knock out the shaft hole panels on either side. It all fits nice and snug.
