I have only one key for my mustang and I am trying to avoid paying 100+ for a programmed key at the dealership. I know that you need two keys if you want to program a third for your car. I have heard that on the first generation PATS system that you only need one to do this same programming. Does anyone know if the 1999 GT is first generation? If not any cheaper solution than going to the dealer?

Also how much would a dealer charge for a key with lock and unlock buttons?

I know for fact when (reprograming) your car you need 2 keys. i had a factory key and a home depot key. i needed to go to ford to cut 2 unprogramed keys for the process to be completed. i believe i paid 60 for both keys cut though and this was 2 months ago, not to bad imo.:heha: my pats system was outa and 03 gt.
