if your going s/c id prob say 3.73..
for a 4.6 liters 410's are the best.
373's are good for 5.0's,those cars usually have 15" or 16" wheels and don't rev as high, there power is more towards the midrange of the engine power curve, that's what i mean, ours (4.6) is in the upper range, got it-410's-.plus we run 17",18" or bigger wheels.
If you plan on SC dont go 4.10s. Definatley do 3.73's. 3.90s are good too, but 3.73's are really good.

thats what i thought... i think i am gonna go 3.73'z
hell depending on boost and how fast you are looking to spin your engine will help you out alot if you are gonna keep a mostly stock block and red line at about the same then for sure nothing more than 3.90's with the SC
Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the 3.90's produced by Motive? If so for that reason I'd go with Ford Motorsport made 3.73's, I also think there's a code on the box that tells which are Ford vs. Motive?:headscratch:
yes motive 3.90s see the sig... NOT A DAMN THING WRONG with them either!!!

infact many of the ford racing gears are made by motive they just have tighter specs when installing... still a quality product if you dont have em dont let someone talk you out of them just bc they are motives bc chances are they dont have them and have nvr driven a car with them... "but some whine" im sure you will say but hell any gear set can whine install, break in, and driving habbits can make any gears whine
well ive been looking this up for months now and tomorrow im getting 4.10s... ill be sure to drop an opinion :bigthumbsup

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm glad you like your gears, I've ALWAYS used Ford Motorsport exclusively, and Motives recently started getting shipped in Ford Racing boxes I agree, that's why I initally asked about box coding to tell?? I have 2 good friends that own Stang Shops and feel the same way.
well I was planning on getting 4.10s but it sounds like I shouldn't? I currently have 3.73s and I like em but I thought maybe 4.10s would be even better. I do have forced induction but I dont think it should be a problem right?
I have a friend with an 2003 Mach 1 w/ a blower and 4.10s and he LOVES it!
I say go for it :bigthumbsup
Okay.... Just got back from the shop and now shes got 4.10s. I absolutly love them! Im really giveing those MM Lower and FRPP Upper control arms a work out. But It hooks up just fine.... and hauls @$$!!!!!!!

Do not fear the almighty gear :worship
the mach 1's also redline a lot higher than the 2v gt's so you can stay in each gear longer. that might be why he loves the 4:10s with a blower.
