I'm in the process of getting some general tools to start working on my Mustang at home. Where can I get a good quality floor jack and stands that work well with the Mustang? My Mustang is a 1998 V6 standard Mustang. Also, where is a good place to get high quality tools that I won't have to replace in a few years?

It depends are you going into the automotive field?
Are the tools just for your car repairs or one day are you going to be in the shop?

As far as tools check out craigslist, Ive found blue point/Snap on tools for check got a whole set of 12 Blue Point ratchet wrenches for $50. I also got a 255 piece craftsman socket/ wrench set for $150.

And for floor jack it, I have a Craftsman 2 ton and it works great ive had it for two years now no issues. Also i would get some ramps they are great to have as well.

No, not going to be in the shop any time soon. I just would like to start doing most my repairs at home. It is fun, plus it saves a ton of money. I would just rather pay more for quality tools and know they will last much longer than going cheap on them. Thanks for the tip, I'll keep on the look out for the deals.

If you have a garage that you can just stick the jack in the corner, get a craftsman 3 ton jack. If you have a carports or some reason you have to move the jack around a lot, then get a Harbor Freight aluminum jack. For jack stands I prefer ones rated for way more than it's actual use..... 3 ton.
