I know Bestbuy online sells a bunch, but do they sell them in stores also? I have a couple old cell phones I could trade in for some cash.

California Laser Jammer Laws - Guys of LIDAR

You sir are wrong. In some states, it is a pretty hefty ticket, and if you get caught with one, be prepared to pay 1/3 of what the cars worth

I don't know about all that...

http://www.lasuperiorcourt.org/bail/pdf/misd.pdf

Looks like a equipment violation, and $35 plus penalty assessment will be around $80 or so.

In other words it's just a ticket, unless you have more than 4 of them an you are selling them. Don't look like a big deal to me. Not sure where you came up with 1/3 the value of your car. Unless your car is worth few hundred bucks.. lol

What about the Whistler XTR-540? It's one of the few cordless ones on the market. I saw one at Costco today for $120. However Amazon has them for cheaper like 75 bucks.

Every Radar Detector I have owned has never lasted very long. To say I hate them is an understatement. 2006GTfan, you my friend, are nutz:kooky:! I rarely drive more than 14.5 MPH over the limit, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

I have the Escort Solo, it's nice because it's battery powered...also i run the Escort VR3 laser jammers, it's a cool setup because once you get lasered and know it, the system has a kill button so you can turn it off once you have slowed down enough to pass the fuzz...my last two tickets were with laser, so it was a no brainer investment...they weren't cheap either

If you're on the highway it at least lets you know, maybe enough time to floor it and get away before they come after you.

If their lights are not on they can't pull you over. As soon as you see them you better or you're going to jail!
That sounds like a great idea. Afterwards you can have fun informing your fellow inmates about your views on the MT82. :bigthumbsup

I've been looking into detectors as well...how are you guys mounting them? The suction cups have been terrible for me in the past. What other options are there?

They also make rear view mirror clips as well, and also many use velcro to mount theirs. Some detectors even come with the velcro to stick on, or you can just buy velcro at someplace like Officemax.

I put my V1 under the rearview mirror with suction cups it hasn't moved once.

Perfect! LMAO! No cure for stupidity yet!!!

Zmoney: any pics? My V1 is on the windshield with a short power cord but I am not in love with that set up. $100 for the Blendmount seems retarded to me.

Would it be better to get a Escort 8500 or a Valatine One instead of getting the Whistler 540?

Also if I use velcro to mount it on the dash, will it still read from behind as good?
