What is your unique detailing tip?

I have read a lot of cool tips within other threads and it is gettin hard to remember all of them. In the spirit of comradierie, please share yours again, here are two of mine:

I wedge a piece of posterboard or cardboard against the windshield when I am detailing with Armour-al protectant so that I avoid the mess on the windshield. I throw the board when I am done.

I also have a small piece of claybar to polish the outside glass and remove any hard deposits that are difficult to remove otherwise. I have not seen any scratches on the glass.

Actually, we could leave it for Stoenr. Help him out with the munchies!!:smoke:
Please leave stoener alone!! We should all admire a man who stands behind his convictions.

In this case it's 2-5 yrs. Right stoenr??:kooky:
Lol, Actually the only time I have been arrested was on my wedding night. Long story, lol. But no drugs involved.
Has anyone used the Mr. Clean Autodry? I don't really reccomend it now that i have tried. I don't think it really works, it just makes everything a lot worse. The only thing i liked about it was how it sprays soap through the nossel.
i want to try Zaino out but can anyone tell me what i should get first

I got one of the kits that contain everything you need. I am very happy with the results.

What do y'all use for the aluminum-finish parts of the I-up panel?

Never-dull. It is an oil based polisher in cotton, non-abrasive. Use gloves and try not ot get it on the plastic.

Great detailed information, Nino. I have just one question:

"You say "First an foremost clean your car in order of dirtiest to cleanest." I always start with the roof and go down the car in from cleanest to dirtiest. I do this, reasoning that as I work, the soap runs down and gets a little of the dirt loosened before I get down to it. Is this a bad idea?
my opinion.... better to work from least dirty to most dirty, usually top to bottom. reason: particulates will get stuck in the wash mitt and soap water no matter how well it gets rinsed. no point dragging them from the dirtiest areas all over the rest of the car.
Hey 5twenty, is that the CDC aggressive chin spoiler on your Stang? It looks great, I'm thinking about it for my white GT.Performance white 2005 GT, 5 speed, IUP, stock Bullitt wheels, Shaker 500, active alarm, Lojack

It sure is. I get so many compliments on this item.
Another tip....

Tube socks are under-rated....I don't know about the rest of you..but the life of a tube sock has been reduced. The elastic is streched after a few months. That is good news for my cars. Stick it on your hand like a hand puppet(if you are bored..you can even put a face on it and let your neighbors question your sanity):happyhapp :eyebulge: . Anyway, they are great for cleaning the wax on the edges and gaps. Also under the spoiler. They don't snag as much as a flopping rag. You can also get into those gaps in the rims. Plus they are plentyful so you can pitch it when done.
I would not recomend it to do an entire car but for the small parts, it is like having a rag glued to your hand...plus you can spin it around every once in a while and " refresh it".

Lol, I use old socks for my Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss
I was Zaino-ing the car this weekend and noticed a patch of asphalt on the rear fender, usual place. Took another rag and wiped it off with Zaino!!

Tried it on other cars and the stuff just wiped off with Zaino!! COOL!
