I inherited a 1996 automatic mustang gt 4.6 that had a pretty bad knock in the engine. After driving it for a day the rod blew through the bottom of the block. So now I want to put in a compatible engine thats newer, but with no trouble, just a simple drop in. Or should I just look for a motor from 1996 to replace mine?
