Hi,

Every part that I have purchased either from American Muscle or Steeda as greatly improve my 2012 Mustang Gt. Now I'm looking to purchase other items that will improve the experience I got from my Coyote.

Here's my mod list: 4.10 gears, axleback Flowmaster american thunder, Steeda Cai, Steeda Tune, Steeda triax shifter with bushings, boss intake manifold, eibach pro kit springs, Flaken FK452 20 inches and Enkei wheels.

Now I need your help what would be the next part to get. I have over a 1000$ for the parts.

What do you suggest and what experience did you feel from the part you are recommending me.

Let me know, need your help, don't know what to purchase next. :worship

Why a driveshaft? It doesn't add power? Just safety?

Smarties,

I agree, your next step would probably be Headers, X or H pipe, Driveshaft then on to suspension!

You're correct, a driveshaft doesn't add any power. However the one piece aluminum driveshafts weight 20lbs less then stock. Shaving 20lbs off of your rotating mass will show you big gains in acceleration and quarter mile times.

I hope this helps. This is just a few recommendations, feel free to ask any questions you may have!

Did you get the whole pro kit or just the springs? If you are on aftermarket springs but still using the stock dampers I would get that changed next, along with whatever else you change.

Thanks AMDan for the input.

Right now I just have the springs. I can go either with Eibach struts or Steeda struts around the same price.

Maybe I'm wrong but if I don't autocross my car, the modification to my suspension beyond springs, struts and maybe a lower control arms would not be beneficial enough compare to more power mods.

Other toughts? I have to take in account that up here in Canada, we have to keep the cats on the car. And since it's lowered a long tube header maybe create me some clearance problem I think.

Other options? Shorty headers, xpipe with cats, driveshaft, throttle body or something else? And in what order.

I'm clearly confuse to what is the next step for my coyote.

I love my DSS alluminum driveshaft, freed up a few HP, and my milliage also improved a tiny amount, also the lighter driveshaft will free up the HP loss from your 20 inch tire/wheel combo that added rotating weight to your car.

Before I superchaged my car did a throttle body, wasn't all that impressed, but maybe with your boss intake, might be more benificial mod, than on my stock intake

If your just racing in a straight line I would go with a DSS D/S. A TB will give a little better initial throttle response off the line. However you won't really see a HP gain with a TB. I would try and shave weight where ever you can.

Rear seat delete, remove everything from the trunk including the carpet. Change the battery to a Odyssey PC 680 when your racing the car. The drive shaft and battery should shave off about 35lbs. Getting rid of everything in the trunk another 10 to 14lbs of weight. That's almost 50lbs. For racing go with 18" wheels around 20 lbs or less. You could do 18x8 in the front and 18x10 in the rear. Unless you can find smaller wheels that are lighter. Every tenth of a second is about 100lbs. JMO

Go with a catted mid-pipe, driveshaft, LCA's, Pan-hard bar, and struts/shocks. This will give you a little boost in power/sound, and a bigger boost in traction. Make sure you get a tune update for the mid-pipe too.

The LCA's will greatly help reduce wheel-hop and allow you to put more power to the ground. While the Pan-hard bar will get your suspension aligned properly, which also helps with weight transfer/traction. The struts/shocks help with handling and make for a smoother ride, since your Mustang is already lowered.

Hope this helps some!

Is it worth it to take an xpipe with cats compare to an xpipe that I bolt the factory cats?

Aftermarket catalytic converts are a much higher free flowing cat than the factory's. It's a much better idea to go with high flow cats when you're changing out the exhaust anyways. Most of our customers either go with no cats or the high-flow ones because of the significant increase in exhaust flow.

Hope this answers your question!

We all like horsepower...but for the love of God, run some kind of catalytic converter if this is a daily driver. Dumping raw fuel into the atmosphere is just irresponsible.

I would get a good set of shocks/struts and a pair of aftermarket lower control arms. All that power and noise isn't going to do you much good in a car that is bouncing and wheel hopping all over the place.

What do you suggest for xpipe? How many hp does it gives? Shorty headers does it worth it?

Base model or premium? If its a base GT, get the GT500 or BOSS steering wheel. That fake rubbery stock thing is crap! Also, how about tinting the windows? I recently did mine and love it. Helps keep things cooler in the summer and, best of all, looks incredible!

Performance-wise, since you already have Eibach springs you might as well go for the Eibach pro shocks/struts (sway bars and LCAs if the spirit moves you). They designed the system to work together with the springs, so since its around the same price I'd stick to the Eibachs over Steeda.

I'd hold off on a TB until you get headers. I was told a TB won't show much gain if you still have the stock headers/cats on there restricting the out-flow. Are hiFlo cats legal up there? If so, longtubes aren't such a bad idea. Stay away from shorties. Shorties are what we have that come stock on the Coyote! I wouldn't worry about ground clearence with the LTs either. I've seen a bunch of 5.0s on lifts with headers on them and the LTs don't appear to sit low enough to worry about any bottoming out issues. LTs are next on my list...I'm eyeballing Bassani...with Stainless Works and ARH at a tie for 2nd. :gringreen
