OK i recently bought a gt40p motor for my sn95 I am refreshing the bottom end. It was already bored over .030. After trying to hone a stain it cleaned up at .0325 -.033 was wondering what size file fit ring i should get. Some have told me ring for file fit .030 will work and others tell me ineed .035 any advice from experience would be appreciated.

File-fit rings for a 4.030" bore should have enough extra material on there to work for you, but just to be sure, put one in right out of the box and measure the end gap. If it's already bigger than spec (0.014"-0.016") then you're gonna need the 4.035" rings, and i would recommend buying a ring grinding tool at that point so the job doesn't take a week.
