What will I need for a dual exhaust conversion on a 2002 V6 Mustang?

Hey everyone, thanks for your input on my first thread on how to get a more aggressive sound for a V6 Mustang. After watching many videos on YouTube and looking through the website, I've decided to go with an o/r h-pipe and thrush welded mufflers. Main reason why I'm getting thrush mufflers is because they're cheap and actually sound nice when paired with an o/r h-pipe. I'm going to go through with this setup and was wondering what exactly do I need in order to do this conversion? I read somewhere that the exhaust from a GT works for this but would I need the entire exhaust or just a certain part? And for my last question, how much will this cost me if I have a fab shop make this for me and how much can I save if I weld the exhaust myself?

This is exactly the sound I was looking for.

The Thrush welded mufflers do sound good.but they only last a year or so.
No cats with a V6 is asking for lots of rasp about 2500RPM and up. Long tube headers, a set of good high flow cats and divorced duals through your muffler of choice is about the only way to make them sound reasonable tough. No matter what exhaust you have it will still sound like a V6 when you get in the higher RPMs.
I know that no matter what kind of exhaust I put on, it will sound like a V6. I'm not trying to make it sound like a V8 or anything. I'm just trying to make it sound more agressive than what it is right now. And the thrush mufflers are just going to be a temporary thing until I need to replace them since I'm attending college right now and can't afford flowmasters at the moment
That's odd, when i follow it from my bookmark it works

Pair 2 2 5" in 2 1 2" Out Offset High Flow Mustang GT Mufflers 40 Series Style | eBay

Original link should work now, it goes to a list of similar mufflers.

That's better, thanks. By the way are these any good?
If you are having a shop fab up the pipes and all that, then you will need nothing. They will have all the parts/pipes/hangers/etc...you just need the money to hand over to them.

If you want to do it yourself, you will an O/R H-pipe for a V6, a GT-style cat-back (that wyou will need to weld in your muffler of choice), and an exhaust hanger kit (PYPES makes a good one).

Good choice on the O/R H-pipe...i still think you should reconsider your muffler choice...if you are planning on buying new mufflers anyway, why not buy the ones you want now (even if it means you have to save some money for a couple months)? Just advice....your money, you time, your car :)

You have a point, I may be rushing it a little haha. I'll probably need at least $500 for everything if I want flowmasters though. Time to start eating ramen for a while! lol

They are what i'm running. I know another guy that has them too, he told me about them to begin with and had them a year or two before i got a pair. I painted mine black to protect them from the outside. The only way they could rust through is from the inside now.
