i use $2 copper plugs..... they dont last very long but better than the iridium and platinum.
the platinums work great, so do the iridiums...new cars come with platinum so the change interval is 100K miles...
I went with NGK V-Power plugs on my 98 and I like them have no complaints at all. Also Just bout the TR-5's for my new turbo setup so that should tell you how much I liked the plugs.
No there copper plugs but just like any other brand they can get expensive but that's when you get into platnium and iridium plugs.
Are E3's worth the hype (better than Motorcraft)? I remember seeing a couple features on Stacey David's garage and a couple other car tv shows saying they're the best game around.

No, none of those V-Groove, Multi-pronged gimmick gadgets make any difference.

The answer for plugs is quite simple:

If you don't mind changing them out periodically, get simple copper plugs like the NGK TR series or standard Autolites. Copper is a better conductor of electricity than iridium or platinum, so obviously more spark energy will be transferred to the tip.

If you want longevity, get iridium or platinum. For 80% of people, they'd rather not replace sparkplugs every 10-15k miles, so it makes sense to go with something more durable, even if there is a percentage of spark loss. The only time I've been able to tell the difference in performance or driveability from that spark loss is at idle. A well cared for copper plug seems to always idle better than a platinum or iridium plug.

I use autolite 103's for nitrous injection, they seem pretty good. copper plugs for nitrous platinums for when I'm not spraying. Takes like 10 minutes to pull plugs, just watch your gap!

I think the thing that some people don't understand with these types of shows are that someone is paying to have thier name and product put on TV. The show is not going to take someone's money then say "E3 plugs are crap" its just advertizing.

Yeah I know it's paid advertising. But it still sounded like there couldve been some difference but maybe not then in this case.

In my honest opinion the E3 plugs if they do make a difference and I am gonna assume it is little but as a daily driver I say stick with normal plugs I would go cooper that is all my opinion though!
go with the e3 it's been proven to increase hp,have them in my 2002 GT

I'll call B.S. on that one. Show me a dyno of a brand new set of NGK TR6's vs. a set of brand new e3's......
wats the difference between a plain copper core, and a copper core with platinum
The tip is platinum, so it doesn't wear as fast as copper. But it doesn't transfer spark energy as well as copper either.
if you watch Power Block TV on the Horse Power show they did an episode with spark plugs and the e3 give the biggest hp gain.
So how much did you pay for your E3's??

And I guess it's just a coincidence that E3 sponsors them right?.....:bigthumbsup

Look, this isn't my first rodeo. Trying to get every last horsepower and bit of gain out of a car is kind of a specialty of mine, and I will guarantee you 100% that a good copper plug like the NGK's is the way to go.

They cost me $11 each but i'm in Canada so the price isn't going to be the same for you, everyone has their opinion, they work for me.
